Where do we meet?
Dunfermline Inner Wheel is part of Inner Wheel District 1, and we meet at Garvock House Hotel, St John’s Drive, Dunfermline KY12 7TU. Meetings are held at 7pm on the third Thursday of the month. No formal meetings are held in July & August but coffee mornings, fundraising and social events continue throughout the year.
Our Club
Dunfermline is one of the oldest clubs in our District. Chartered in 1946 we will soon celwbrate our 80th Birthday! We currently have 33 members
As well as the monthly meetings members enjoy coffee mornings, knitting, regular walks and outings as well as fundraising for local and international projects.
Our City – Dunfermline
Dunfermline is now a city granted by the Queen as part of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations – quite appropriate as it has been a Royal Burgh since 1588 – granted by James VI.
We have a beautiful Abbey with the heart of Robert the Bruce buried within. Also within the Abbey is a beautiful Tiffany window recently rehoused there for all to see and admire.
We have a large park in the centre of the city – gifted to Dunfermline by one of its most famous sons Andrew Carnegie. It is called Pittencrieff Park but all the locals call it the Glen. Andrew Carnegie gave it to the town because as a boy he could only look over the wall as it was owned by a very wealthy family. There are peacocks in this park but they are allowed to roam free and sometimes you will meet one walking up the High Street.
We also have Carnegie Hall (before New York had one) Carnegie swimming baths and Library so you see he was very good to the town of his birth.
Orange the World
The Dunfermline Club has embraced the Orange the World during November. More information on the origins of OTW can be found on the District 1 News and Information page in menu above. Members have worn orange during an OTW walk in Dunfermline, coffee morning and Club meeting – the latter when District Chairman Lynda visited on 30th November. Inner Wheel Day 2026
We celebrated Inner Wheel Day by holding a coffee morning for members at President Denise’s house. Lots of lovely home baking, a good chat and a raffle made it a very enjoyable day.
Christmas presents for Salvation Army
Dunfermline Inner Wheel ladies collected presents for the Salvation Army. This is an annual collection to help those in need in Dunfermline area. President Denise Slora and Community Convenor Joyce Smith delivered the presents to Lt Diane Johnson at the beginning of December.
At The District Rally in Forfar
Helping out at the Gin Festival
The club maintains a strong link with Dunfermline Rotary and there are always lots of willing helpers at at their Charity Gin Festival. This year 13 members were helpers.
Fundraising Afternoon Tea
The 2nd Fundraising Afternoon Tea was a great success – enjoyed by all.

Burns Supper 2026
Our members enjoyed a fun evening of ‘Sangs and Clatter’ at our joint Burns Supper with our Rotary Club. All the entertainment was provided by our own members and their families and what a talented lot they are! What a fantastic night it was, look forward to next year!
Supernova Walk – 1st November 2024
SUPERNOVA WALK – Dunfermline ladies donned their high viz vests, warm clothes, sensible shoes and lights on hats to walk across the Forth Road Bridge at night. The bridge was closed for the event and they could walk, run or jog. Their fundraising walk was in aid of MS Society Scotland. Many congratulations to all.
Centenary Celebration & 72nd District Rally
STARS OF THE SHOW – Margaret Farquharson (below) & Wendy Spence (above) performed their song & poem, celebrating 100 Years of Inner Wheel. Wendy was the winner of the Poetry Competition. Both are members of the Dunfermline Club.
Centenary Celebratory Lunch – London
5 members travelled to London to attend the Association Celebratory Centenary Lunch in the Leonordo Royal Tower Hotel, joining with 350 other members from all over GB&I
